PHYSICAL SCIENCE

Physical Science Physical science is the study of the properties and structures of matter, space and time. Included in this branch of science are major concepts in physics, as well as exploring special areas like special relativity and forensics. This area of science can also be broken down into divisions such as the following:

Acoustics - Acoustics is the science of sound as it reacts to air, water and solid materials. Acoustic Science covers topics from radar to white noise to why you can hear the ocean in a seashell.

Chemistry – A very broad area of science chemistry is the study of matter and the changes that it undergoes during chemical reactions.

Energy Production – The study of the production of energy and not just conventional energy like from gas, oil and coal, but alternative energy sources as well like sun, water and wind power.

Forensic Science – This is the study of the physical evidence left at a crime scene. Things like clothing fibers and foot prints, to DNA evidence. This also includes things like handwriting analysis and mummification.

Nuclear Science – This area of science includes the study of atomic energy, radiation, and nuclear power.

Optics - Optics is the study of the properties and behavior of light. In this section you can learn about everything from holograms to lasers and lenses. The study of optics looks not only at what you can see, but also the perception of how you see it.

Physics - This scientific study explores general physics as well as quantum science. Topics like quantum suicide, parallel universes and time travel are all touched upon under the heading of physics.

HOW PHYSICAL SCIENCE AFFECTS OUR LIVES

The study of the physical sciences has allowed for things like telescopes and eyeglasses. It has allowed us to look into different power sources, many of which fuel our world today. In addition to this physical science has allowed for a more accurate assessment of crime scenes, allowing the proper individuals to be caught and identified more often. It has also allowed for the production of hearing aids as well as audio, video, and stereo production. It is surely a branch of science that affects our lives each and every day. So if you thought you didn’t really have any use for science think again…you couldn’t hear or see your computer or television if it weren’t for the work in the area of physical science.
